Checked out Scores at about 9:00 on a Wednesday evening. Cover charge was $10. The girl taking the cover whispered something into her cop style Motorola microphone and, as soon as I went through the second door into the club, a bouncer in a suit wearing the same Motorola rig was walking toward me. He stuck out his hand, greeted me, and asked me if I wanted to sit at a table or the bar. I shook his hand and told him I would just sit at the bar.

The bar is just inside the door. The lap dance area is to the left behind the bar. To the right is the main club area, with the stage and a large seating area. Behind the seating area is the VIP area. I have been to only two other Scores branded clubs, one in Jacksonville and one in Tampa. The one in JAX is kind of run down, but the one Tampa is a pretty nice, upscale club. This one is more along the lines of the Tampa locations. It has a very nice, upscale, modern look. There were several other bouncers in suits with microphones clipped to their lapels roaming the club, which was a little over the top considering it was a slow Wednesday night and there weren’t more than a dozen customers, mostly older white PLs, including a few guys in business suits. Surprisingly, there was no attendant in the restroom.

A domestic beer at the bar was $5 even, which I liked. Most of these places make it an odd number, $4.75 or $5.25, or something like that, to force you to give up your change and add a dollar for a tip.
