OK Recon Visit

I haven’t been back to Blaze in about a good year and some change. I believe since around Fall of 2015 was my last visit. I spent most of 2016 going to Follies instead. I had an itch to hit some black clubs again so I decided to do an afternoon recon visit.

The club is located in a somewhat industrial section of Moreland Ave. Parking and cover is free during the day until 7:00 I believe. I arrived around 4:00 in the afternoon and stayed until around 5:45. The layout hasn’t changed at all since my last review minus the first booth to the right upon entry. What used to be a somewhat private area is now a little spot where they set hookahs at. There are two levels to this club. The upper level is more of a party atmosphere and the lower level is more of a relaxed atmosphere. I normally go to the lower level to get my dances. I remembered the club being darker on previous visits; the lighting was rather bright for a club on this particular visit.

The music is mostly rap and the songs were at full length during my entire visit. The DJ also didn’t speak much but he would chastise those that weren’t tipping the dancers on stage. So much so that he threatened to play some Garth Brooks country songs lol. But overall this DJ was acceptable as he rarely shortened the songs and let them play at full length and kept the talking to a minimum.
