getting better

With some many clubs on the block going down the tubes, it's interesting to see a club going the other way. Chez Joey is not perfect, but it now ranks #2 on the block (not including the very different Hustler), with the Red Room.

It's clean, with a long bar that unfortunately has little room between it and the wall; they also have some tables against the wall; leads to lots of bumping and knees in the back. Drinks are the usual block prizes.

There's a comfortable but VERY open dap dance area that is at the end of the room; can be seen from the bar if you're down at that end, and anyone going to the bathroom gets full-on view. It is relatively dark, however.
