A Low-cost Alternative in Pompano

Broward County is the Baskin-Robbins of strip club destinations--maybe not "31 flavors," but a remarkable variety of entertainment options. Club Pink doesn't get a lot of reviews here at TUSCL, but I would make the case that this unassuming club has a distinctive appeal to its flashier (Cheetah) and trashier (Porthole) neighbors.

For location, physical description, and club layout, see my review from October 30, 2016. I'm a dayshift guy only, and other reviews indicate that, at night, the club is busier and the customer base is younger. Dayshfit seems to draw a blue-collar crowd, which I like. Dancers were predominately AA, while the customer base was mixed white/Latino/AA. Music can be loud, but the dancers seem to like it that way. Price of entry is very low by strip club standards--free parking (in a tiny lot), no cover, 2-for-1 drinks. I was seated at the bar with two Budweisers in front of me for under $10 including tip. Dancers are a mix of body types; stage shows were more energetic than clubs like Porthole; when not dancing, the girls tended to hang out with customers. This gives the club a very "social" vibe--less overt groping than Porthole, almost no "wanna dance" or other upselling. Net, relaxing. A young, curvy Jamaican dancer sat next to me and started a conversation. She was cute, and her laid-back island vibe suited my interests for the afternoon. Interestingly, when the DJ announced a 3-for-$30 dance special, I asked if she wanted to go but she preferred to stay at the bar and chat. I looked around and, to my surprise, no one seemed to care about the dance special, totally unlike Porthole's mass migration to the friction booths. I was tipping Miss Jamaica for her time, and she was good company, with mutual touching and your basic front-room romance. Overall, an experience I hope to soon repeat.
