Construction Improves Club Energy

Good times on day shift at Booby Trap. The never-ending (7 year?) construction project moves on. The exterior of the club appears nearly complete, and is pretty impressive. Inside the club, there is a new interior wall which reduces floor space by about half--the old lap dance area, the old bar and narrow stage (toward the street) are behind the new wall and likely being remodeled. One result of the smaller space is the club feels more energetic earlier in the day. Basically, there is just one stage operating, with tables surrounding it; the service bar (near the Men's room) and the newer bar to your left as you enter, are open, as are the VIP rooms behind the newer bar. The club may get crowded later, but around 1:00 the place felt busy, lots of customers and dancers circulating.

As an out-of-town visitor to the Pompano triangle, dancer appearance is one of the variables. Cheetah has the Playboy Playmates, Diamond Dolls is more like Penthouse Pets, while Booby Trap represents the Hustler Honeys, IYKWIM. I was in the mood for Door #3, and the Trap did not disappoint. Still $1 to park (with the lot recently paved), no cover, $4.75 for Bud. Dancers were a mix of styles and ethnicities (2 AA, a sprinkling of Latinas, and some caucasian girls)--a little older, fewer fake boobs, fun-loving attitudes. Mostly hung out with one of the AA dancers, and had a fine time in the main room and the back. Bartenders and servers do a good job, the free burger is pretty good; shot girl is annoying , but aren't the all? Overall, I like the Booby for its lack of pretense. I wish them luck in completing the building before I croak, but in it's current state the club has a great vibe.
