Done with this place

I have reviewed this bar many times in the past, as I have been an occasional visitor to this spot for well more than a decade. Unfortunately, the club has been heading downhill for many years in many different ways, including dancer quality, friendliness, value, etc. Today, I have reached the end of the line and will bid a forever farewell to this place.

I might add that the club did have a brief resurgence in dancer quality about two years ago, but has largely returned to the days where most of the dancers are far beyond their prime and should have hung up their dancing shoes and g strings a long time ago. However, in fairness, each time I have been to Rubys I hold out hope that I will find that one diamond in the rough - one girl who is attentive, fun, in her prime, and gives fun, good dances, and that you can talk too. I have found this less and less, but I will admit that occasionally that does happen. Taina, Carla, Adrianna, Gabriella, and there have been others through the years. But the majority of the girls today just no longer have "it".

Todays final straw had nothing to do with the girls, though the dancing was as boring as it gets. "Nude" dancing doenst really happen here anymore. Many times, dancing downs t happen either. Most girls take the stage, stand around for 10 minutes, and leave. If you're lucky, you might see a topless girl, but many literally take off nothing. So I was there and had a water, for which I paid $3.50 and provided a $2 tip. About 30 minutes later, and after being pestered by the waitress about 10 times, I got another water, and again paid $3.50 plus a $2 tip. Mind you that this is not the waitress that I have known to have been working here days for years - the sweet little Italian lady. Don't know what happened to her. So its only me and maybe 2-3 other guys on the stage side of the bar - and for the most part I am the only one sitting stage side and forking over singles to keep these girls employed. And I am trying to check out the goods to see if there is anyone that I want to take to the back. On a normal visit to Rubys, I will drop $150-$180 in dances, and another $40 or so at the stage, usually over a 2 hour period. So now I am about half way done with water number 2, I am there less than an hour, and have been dropping singles the whole time - mostly by myself. Crabby waits comes over and asks if I am all right. I say I am fine for now. Get this - she says - we have a three drink minimum so you need to order another water! I politely tell her that I have been there for less than an hour, I have been the only one tipping the girls (and probably her too) and I have been coming to this place for 15 years and have NEVER been treated like this. She asks if I want another water. Needless to say, I got up and left - and won't be back. There are other establishments where I can take my business and not be treated like this. Farewell Rubys. I will try to remember the good old days there rather than the poor excuse for a go-go bar that you have become.
