Carl's was my next stop after...

Carl's was my next stop after Bobby's. I was here a week earlier on a Friday and got to experience the bad side of the area. I've been told by fellow patrons that the worse customers in the area can be found at Carl's on Friday and Saturday nights. I've also been told gangs hangout here. Of course I've been to some really shitty clubs across the country so I wasn't phased by their warnings.

While I personally didn't experience anything bad, there seemed to be some kind of disagreement between some white and hispanic customers over at the pool tables. One of the hispanic guys was saying things in Spanish while motioning toward the white guy as one of his buddies started laughing. Of course this didn't go over well with the white guy. What happened next involved one of the bar backs (I'm guessing) and another guy going over there to diffuse the situation. I figured they were talking shit since I had something similar happen to me earlier during that visit.

About a half hour into my visit, I bought a couple shots for a guy that said he was from Mexico. We were shooting the shit and talking sports until his buddy came up and sat on the other side of him. When that happened things changed. Now they were speaking Spanish to each other and saying things to me in Spanish. I didn't think much of it until the bartender came over and said something to them in Spanish (sounded like she was scolding them) while looking over at me. They then stopped and just continued talking to each other. I was ready to head out anyway (I was only approached by one fat dancer the whole time I was there) so I closed my tab and left.
