Just the facts

I've reviewed HK before, so I'll just stick the new revelations from this trip.

A new policy has been put in place. You now have to show ID and the guest services guy insisted that I register for a VIP card with my real name! It's not a deal breaker with all the goodies that HK offers, but this is a real downer. More paranoid mongers should be aware of this change.

Also, I've come to realize that I put up with Hotel Cascadas only because of all that HK and the surrounding area offers. Cascadas might have a centralized location and be a hair better than most hotels in Zona Rosa, but it's still a shit hole. You can hear the music even in a 6th floor room. Hot water is unreliable, and the showers' streams are weak. I've had multiple rooms where the toilets ceased functioning part way through my stay. The bedding and rugs often have cigarette burns and cum stains. On several stays the clerk cannot locate a TV remote (not a huge deal) and/or the key for the safe (a really big deal for me). Various parts of the hotel have a surprise step of an inch or 5 out of nowhere due to the multiple remodels of this building over the decades. This is basically a fleabag hellhole with gaudy sexual decorations that happens to be next to the funnest place on earth.
