A second look

I took a second [and third] look at Deja Vu Tijuana (DVTJ) on a recent trip. The first visit was on a Wednesday night, with a followup on Friday night. One of the staff gave our TUSCL group a full tour and I have to say that this club does have things to offer even with Hong Kong, Adelitas, and the rest of Zona Rosa just a $5 cab ride away. Firstly, the club is every bit as impressive on a physical scale as higher end clubs in Vegas and Texas. It's big, clean, and laid out with care for presentation. While HK/Adelitas have cramped booths and narrow walkways situated in aging buildings (with even more aged hotels attached), DVTJ is a completely remodeled building with tasteful furniture and decorum. Perhaps DVTJ is decorated with more of a westernized taste, but I find it to be less "Miami Vice" than HK, less dark and creepy than Adelitas, and generally less grimy than Zona Rosa clubs. Many of the Zona Rosa clubs feel cramped on the weekends. DVTJ definitely does not have the traffic of HK, but it also helps that the floor is more open.

There is no designated lap dance areas like in American strip clubs. DVTJ operates on the fichas system like all clubs in town. You buy the girls an $8 drink (she gets a ticket to redeem for $4 at the end of her shift) and she will chat or grind on you at your seat so long as the drink is not empty. Our collective experiences is that a single drink will last from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the girl.

There are VIP skyboxes for varying prices that overlook the main club. The purpose is to use the S&M racks, sex swings, and other gear for fucking while not missing the show. The skyboxes currently have no one-way glass, just semi-transparent curtains. You are probably giving a decent show to folks on the second floor of the club even if you close the curtains before starting to fuck.
