Beware of Camelot Hustle
One of the downsides to being a regular in this club is that when you come on a slow day (usually dayside early in the week) and you just happen to be the only one spending any money, the girls and staff initiate a hustle on you. This is usually done by several girls ganging up on you at your table. While it may seem an ego boost to be surrounded by hot dancers, it can quickly get out of hand (and I mean this literally as well, i.e., lots of hugging, wrapping arms around you, light rubbing on the leg, although nothing risque or lewd, too openly visible for that). I'm usually generous to my favorites with $20 tips. This attracts a LOT of attention, so it's fun for awhile until the money runs out. Granted there are days when it gets so slow, no one can make enough money to cover expenses. This must have been an extra slow day, since I've rarely experienced the girls being so "handsy".
The problem comes, when they all start ordering drinks and food. Unfortunately, Camelot has a habit of not showing you the bill, even though you can ask for it. I prefer not to make a stink about the bill or the drink orders, but on this occasion, I asked for the itemized list after I had signed the check and I when I looked at it after getting home I feel my bill was padded to the tune of about $80. True drinks are overpriced as standard operating procedure, but there clearly were some shady additions on this occasion.
The bottom line for me is that I won't be going back any time soon and with any future visits, I will be have to figure out a way to limit who I sit with to one dancer and disinvite anyone else who wants to join the "party." This just happened to be one of the days when the lineup was full of some of the club's hottest girls, so it was something you don't experience in many other clubs. You just have to buckle up and not let the exploitation get out of hand.
