Silver Slipper review

The Silver Slipper Saloon is one of two strip clubs located in Ottawa, Illinois. The SSS has been around for well over 15 years and is one of the very few strip clubs within 100 miles of Chicago that feature full nudity throughout the club (stage and private dances) and full liquor as well (the only others being Skybox and to some degree, Club 390 and Club O; the girls at 390 and O often don't get nude on stage).

The large parking lot is unpaved but no valet attendants. There were still a lot of large potholes and there was a section for semi-trucks as well. Cover was $7; I remember it being $6 before, so a slight increase. No cover if you go early in the evening (I think before 6 pm). The club has changed quite a bit during those years. Originally, the club didn't have a kitchen and serve food, didn't have gambling machines or a pool table, didn't have "private" VIP rooms, and was known as a non contact club, although the actual "air dance" (no contact even from the dancer) wasn't all that common but it still happened often enough. Since then, the club has remodeled and expanded and all those additions have occurred including "light" contact dances and more contact available in the VIP rooms.

It's a decent sized club, but the large stage takes up a lot of space (along with the 5 or so gambling machines and pool table) and the seats are spread out quite a bit so there isn't that much seating available despite no dedicated VIP seating. I estimated about 30 tables and about 90 cushioned rolling seats. Including the bar and the stage, there's seating for around 125. Drinks are relatively cheap ($3 domestic, pitchers available for groups, $2.50 for well drinks, $1.50 for water). It's a decent place, fairly clean, was never fancy and still isn't, but noticeably nicer than the other Ottawa club (Lamp Liter). They remodeled the bathrooms too and made them more faux upscale. Still no bathroom troll.
