Scores

Scores is in a small strip mall on Dale Mabry Highway directly across the street from 2001 and about a block away from Mons Venus. I stopped by at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday. There were plenty of open parking spaces, but they were all coned off to force use of the valet. I pulled up to the valet, who informed me parking was $20 in front of the club, $10 in the lot but not in front of the club, or he could park me in the car wash parking lot on the next block for a tip only. There were several cars parked right in front of the club, so I guess some do pay $20 for that “service,” but not me. I let him take my rental car to the car wash.

The $10 cover charge was taken by a cute girl at the door. I have been in only one other Scores branded club, the one in Jacksonville, which is not that great. This one is much nicer. It’s a decent size club and pretty upscale, although not super luxe. There is large stage to the right as you enter, a square bar to the left, seating in between. There are bottle service and VIP areas along the out walls.

There was a small crowd of about a dozen guys at the bar when I entered and maybe five or six dancers, all pretty good looking, hanging around, but no one dancing on stage. A domestic beer at the bar was $6. Apparently, this place is billed as a steak house also, but I didn’t try the food. I sat at the bar sipping my beer for a while and, after about 10 minutes, the DJ put a dancer on stage, which stayed in use after that. Unlike 2001 and Mons, Scores serves alcohol, which in Tampa means no nudity, so Scores is topless only, with pasties. As I sat at the bar, I noticed there was a fairly steady stream of girls in street clothes coming in and going to the back.
