Follies seems to be changing direction... :-(

Went to Follies for the umptee-umpth time in my 20 years of Atlanta strip clubbing. I'm usually a couple times-per-month daytime guy, but wasn't able to make it this time until 7:30p. Still early by SC standards, but I got stung for $10 entry (which I knew about and was expecting), but also $20 to park my effin' car! I've read about the spike in valet charges in other reviews but thought maybe it was a late-night thing when I never go. Suffice it to say, $30 just to get in the door will make me seriously reconsider any further evening visits.

The club was weirder than usual, as well. I snagged a high-chair along the wall opposite the DJ (which isn't difficult around shift-change) and even managed to chair-hop down to the coveted corner seat by the emergency exit. Sweet! Or so I thought. By 9pm, the thug factor overwhelmed me, all gathering close around and eyeing me, like I was an interloper. Clearly, the "No Hoody" rule is not being enforced. Also, the smoke, and not necessarily from cigarettes, makes it rough to breath.

And as for dancers, most ignored me. I'm a white older guy who is clean, in shape, and buys lots of dances with tips. I don't think I give off any especially strange vibes. But most dancers just walk on by, only to perch on a thug's lap, do no dances, and make no money (at least that I can see). And oddly, the cocktail waitresses are tough to flag down. I like it that they don't hound you all night long, but there does need to be the occasional check-in when a glass is obviously empty, or no glass at all.
