sinclair's Review
I dropped into Rhonda’s Place at 21:45 on a Saturday night. You have probably heard the term “dive bar with strippers” used on this website before. In most cases, reviewers use the phrase liberally on TUSCL and exaggerate. However, Rhonda’s Place can only be described a dive bar with strippers. It is literally a trashy bar in a strip mall that has dancers performing on a little stage in the corner. The clientele was mostly Mexicans from Labor Ready and young black men with their pants sagging below their butt. Being dressed fairly well, I was a fish out of water. There is no cover charge to enter, and no one checking ID’s. There was a sign behind the bar stating that one must purchase a minimum of two drinks, but it seemed to not be enforced. I only drank a Red Bull ($3.50) and bailed after an hour of observation due to my lungs hurting. Smoking is allowed inside Missouri bars, so be aware that you will be choking on secondhand smoke.
The main room has the bar in the back. A white lady named Keira was the bartender. The stage is in the northeast corner. It is only a step above floor level and has a spinning pole. The stage is fenced by metal pipes. A TouchTunes jukebox is on the wall next to the stage. Dancers pick their songs off the jukebox. Since there is no DJ introducing the dancers, you have to talk to them to get their names. The remainder of the main room was filled with stool at high top tables. There is also a back room with two pool tables and a cigarette machine. There were signs all over the walls stating to notify management if anyone tries selling you drugs.
There were five dancers working on the Saturday night shift. Two were white, and three were black. I was not aroused by any of them.
