Back to the old Cricket

The Cricket got their liquor license back, so they are back to a $10 cover, a regular cash bar, and are supposedly open 6 nights a week again. The club has a new website but it isn't very good; not sure why you would need a reservation to go there and they removed the dancer list. This visit was a Friday during the holidays, arriving around 8pm. Paid the $10 cover but there was no one dancing on the stage until nearly 9pm. Drink prices were fairly reasonable; beers were cheap but a call-brand liquor was a bit more than it used to be there (but still cheap by strip club standards). A few girls were sitting at tables and the bar, but none of the dancers seemed to be working very hard. Eventually some started rotating through the stage and I saw somewhere between 8 and 10 dancers throughout the night. 50/50 mix of white and AA. All were attractive but there was no hustle; the club went from fairly dead, to a decent number of customers, and back to fairly dead but we were not approached once by anyone for a single dance. While the Cricket is generally low-key, this was still not normal. There are always girls sitting with regulars or with other dancers at the bar and not really working, but this is the first time I remember that no one tried to sell a dance. The vibe was pretty down this visit and we ended up leaving around 1130. I chalk it up to the post-holiday time of the visit.
