Another fun visit
Went back to Diamond Girls this evening for the first time in about six months. Being the week after Christmas on a Wednesday it was predictably slow, but I still had an enjoyable time. I ended up buying VIP dances from four dancers and this time there was not a bad one among them. The quality of the dances can vary and I had some real duds in previous visits, but tonight I hit it just right.
The club itself is nothing fancy and nothing pretentious about it. It is located in a mixed residential/industrial neighborhood closer to RTP than Durham itself, although technically it is in Durham. It is kind of out in the middle of nowhere and easy enough to miss if you aren't familiar with the area. There is adequate parking in a sort of run down parking lot. The entrance is at the far right of the front of the building, I was always asked to pay a seven Dollar cover. Sometimes they pretend to be a Members Only club and you are asked to sign in. Use whatever fake name you want; I was never actually asked for any ID.This is usually only on weekends. On weekdays you just pay the cover and get to go straight in. Past the cashier desk by the front door you enter the club itself. Immediately to the right is a steepish staircase leading upstairs to the VIP dance area. Past that is the exit to the smoking area, which is basically a large clear plastic tent over a patio with an entrance to the club itself. Past that is a smallish bar with surprisingly reasonable drink prices. On the far left of the club are the restrooms, which are adequate and nothing special. In between is a raised stage with two poles, a DJ booth in the far corner, and then the seating area for the PLs. The seating in my book is the worst part about this club. There are freaking office desk chairs set to the lowest setting around smal, round tables. There are also a few of these chairs lined up along the edge of the stage. These chairs are awkward and very uncomfortable, and even some of the dancers have commented about them and think that they desperately need to be replaced. Along the back of the room is a raised platform, about three steps higher off he ground than the main seating area. This is where the table dances usually take place. Here too are those awkward desk chairs. The upstairs VIP area does not have private booths, gut is rather partitioned into semi-private dance nooks. The couches themselves are a bit threadbare.
Overall he club physically is not bad, if they were to switch out those ridiculous chairs, but it could make do with a makeover.
