Over several visits in January and February, the club is slowly returning to normal. A lot of the dancers quit after the 12-28-2005 Madison County Sheriff's Department raid, but they are gradually being replaced by newer talent. Most of the newer dancers fall into the hot, young and natural girl next door type, while most of the holdovers (there are exceptions) fall into the tired older dancer category. The crowds, at least on the weekends, are pretty much back to the pre-raid levels as well. The use of pasties is being seriously enforced, as is the no kitty-flashing rule, but "stevies" and nose rubs are beginning to make occasional appearances. Nowhere near the pre-October level (prior to the ABC compliance visit), but looser than any time since then. All in all Fantasia was down for a while but seems to be on the comeback trail and is once again far and away the best club in north Alabama, both in terms of number and quality of dancers and the hot VIP dances upstairs. But I sure do miss the pre-October days when stageside tipping was a fairly high contact sport.
