Not Bad, But...

Couldn't decide between trying out the two FIB clubs I skipped Thursday or going to Deja Vu 2 or both, but after reading recent reviews of the FIB spots I went with just going to DV2. DV2 is maybe a half mile from the school where I used to teach 15 years ago, so I'm a little familiar with the area. It's right on the corner of Campbellton and Childress, but I passed it because the sign was mostly covered by a Mr. Everything sign (Mr. Everything is a food place adjoined with/inside the club).

Got to DV2 around 1:15 or so. Paid 10 to park and 10 to get in: says up front that it's 10 to enter before 2. I assume it's 20 after 2, so I felt a little better about taking a chance. The place has a ton of tables and is really just a big open area. Tables and Mr. Everything to the left as you walk in, bar and a few more tables to the right, stage to the right of that, and pool tables to the right of that before you get to the DJ booth at the far corner on the right side. More tables throughout too.

Sat at a table by the entrance at first, before deciding to move where I could see the TVs. Four of them, all on NBA TV. Got kicked out of the place I loved to for a group celebrating a birthday. The waitress was nice about it, and I told her I was cool with it. Gave four girls the Heisman before deciding I was ready to get dances around 3. Oh, the club fills considerably at that point since the other clubs are closed. The party also seemingly gets started. A guy took the mic and explained the three rules. Eat before you get too drunk, tip the bartenders, and basically have a good time. Nothing about staying peaceful, which was a bit disconcerting...but whatever. Music was local Atlanta rap.
