Some things I've noticed
I've reviewed Chicas Bonitas before so I won't waste your time telling you things I've already written about. Over the last year I've become a bit of a regular here and just thought I'd expand on the Chicas experience for those that haven't been.
First of all, I hate to say it but I think security is not so good... Depending on when you get there, you might or might not encounter security at the door at all. Even when you do see them, the pat down is mostly just for show. I have almost zero confidence that they're stopping people with weapons from getting in. That said, I have been there a dozen times and have yet to see a fight or conflict. The parking lot is sketchy too and I've never seen security patrol it. What I have seen are people begging for money and broken glass all over. Again, I have yet to have a real problem but I don't drive a nice car either.
When I first started going to Chicas it seemed like it was mostly Mexican women dancing. Over time the demographic seems to be shifting, first with more black dancers, and now a huge influx of Cubans. Ive heard that the mileage is higher with the Cuban dancers, but I know that the hustle is higher too. I just stick with the girls I know and keep a low profile.
One last thing, in case you didn't know I think Chicas is 24 hours on the weekend now? At least they were last time I was there. I was leaving town before sunrise stopped in on my way out of town. It was surprisingly busy at 5:30am!! Kind of surreal to experience at that time of day but I had a good time.
All said and done, I love dive clubs and will definitely hit Chicas next time I'm in Vegas
