The Name Changes but not Much Else
Well, it's been 3 years since I last visited this club. It's changed hands and names so frequently that it's difficult to keep up. The Carousel Lounge, Tattletale's, The Carousel Lounge again ... and now The 4 Play Adult Entertainment Lounge. I think it became it's latest incarnation over the summer. They advertise heavily in the weekly papers in the NEPA area. I had heard from someone that things had changed and it was now a decent place to visit. I went there on a Wednesday night around 11:00 PM. I wasn't expecting the world, but I was expecting some changes. Nope. Not one. At least to me. The layout is still the same. Walk in, large bar and dance area is directly in front of you. The upper stage, which is connected to the lower stage, juts into a back room where I believe there are pool tables and other forms of entertainment. I suppose this is where the shower shows are held, too. However, I didn't even bother to look seeing as the entire front of the building remained unchanged. The smokiness was still there, and the lack of talent was evident, too. If those two features had been reversed, well, it might be worth a visit. There was no cover and I stayed for only 1 beer. I had a Michelob Ultra, which was $3.00. That's fairly priced for such an environment. The bartender was in a black thong, and she shouldn't have been. I stayed for 3 dancers, one of which was OK. The rest of the dancers, around 6 or 7 total, were in the bar area and they didn't excite me whatsoever. For sure, I think this place has appeal to some but not to me. It's a dive bar, but Leave it to Beaver's is also a dive and I'd rather take the drive there. I hope others comment, as these are only my opinions.
