Great downtown location and decent value

I've been to Club Rouge a few times now, but the most recent was on a Saturday evening in early December '16. A buddy and I arrived around 8:30 PM, so we just walked in without needing to pay a cover. The building looks pretty nice from the outside which cannot be said for a lot of other places in Portland. The place wasn't very busy when we got there, but it started to pick up around 9 PM or so. Probably not coincidentally, that's when most of the girls showed up as well. There are two adjoining stages, but in my experience the second one only gets used after 9 as well. The club itself is decent sized, but not big by any means. There's usually enough seating when I've been there but about half of the seats are at the rack. The somewhat small bar had its stools removed on Saturday night although I've sat at the bar on other nights. I mostly drink beer there but the bar appears to have a decent selection of beer and liquor. The guys' bathroom isn't bad for a strip club, but not the cleanest I've been in either.

Apparently they do serve food, but I can't say that I've ever seen anybody eating there.

On to the girls! I can't recall any visit where I was disappointed by the ladies. As noted in my rating, I'd give the club about a 7/10 overall. Portland isn't really known for its ethnic diversity and that is reflected pretty well at Rouge. I generally see a few girls of ethnicity but not many. Body types are generally a little more varied as is the age range. There is no longer a cage for the underage dancers as they advertise on their Web page. They generally hang out in the window well like niches cut out of the wall behind one row of seating when they aren't on stage. We were chatting with a few of them, but apparently we got them in trouble as they are supposed to be go-go dancing and not crouching down talking to customers. The girls' dancing skills varied as they do at most clubs. Some really put on a show while others appear to be phoning it in.
