Another visit to Mitchell Brothers

This is my second review of this club, based on a visit in early November. The last time I visited was earlier this year and I went early in the week at kind of a deader time of day. This time I came on a Thursday, closer to 11 pm, so I was hoping that more was going on. And it was, although that isn't saying much--last time there was nothing happening on stage in any of the many rooms of this place. This time there was a stage show happening in one of the "main" rooms, but it was all fairly ordinary club fare. I've read some reviews that talk about more exotic happenings, but none of that was on offer while I was there, and many of the stages were empty. Maybe I was still too early, or maybe it has to be a special day, I don't know. In any event, there were more dancers running about to choose from, and many were quite attractive. I had a lapdance from a gorgeous blonde who was anxious to strike a deal for something naughty in the back rooms. I begged off as I had just arrived and wanted to enjoy myself more. And yet I allowed myself to be talked into it by the very next dancer, a tall brunette who had a very persuasive manner about her. Into a private room we went, and before you know it, I was out the door again.

It left me with a little bit of the feeling I had the last time I was there...in a way, it WAS what I was looking for after all, but the fact that it's expected makes it feel so quick and transactional. It makes me miss the more traditional club experience, where you don't know what you're going to get. Of course that means you may well leave disappointed, but having to work to find the right dancer and then spend some time with that dancer means the tension builds up more organically, and if you DO wind up with something special, it's more of a pleasant surprise and feels like a big win. It makes me wonder if, next time I'm in town, I'll prefer the ripoff of the Gold Club or the skanky but random vibe of Crazy Horse to the clinical sure thing of MB. In a way that's crazy but maybe that's what I'll do.
