This was my second foray into the world of black strip clubs. Club Blaze is on a low end, light industrial/commercial stretch of Moreland Avenue south of Atlanta. The area is not pretty, but doesn’t feel unsafe, at least not when I made my visit at about 1:30 p.m. on a Friday. There were about two dozen cars in the lot outside which left plenty of open parking spaces. The door was manned outside by a security guard that checked my ID, patted me down, and announced “$5 dances, two drink minimum.” He didn’t charge for parking.

There is a small counter just inside the door, but there was no one there so I walked on in without paying a cover. This club is big. In keeping with the neighborhood, it’s a pretty low end place, but I have seen worse. There is a large bar immediately inside the door to the left, past that is the large main stage, which was unoccupied. I sat at the upstairs bar and ordered a gin and tonic, which I think was $6. Along the right wall is a row of open cubbies. Past that at the far end is an area with pool tables. The restrooms are also in this area. There is lots of seating in between,

The restrooms have an unusual set up. Inside the restroom door is only a urinal and toilet, no sink. The sink is outside the restroom door in the club area, manned by an attendant, which while I was there was a large fat guy smoking a cigar. You are pretty much compelled to wash your hand and pay the toll unless you want everyone in the club to know you took a piss without washing your hands.
