Visited: Wednesday Evening

I moseyed into Angie’s around on a Wednesday evening at about 22:00. There was a $5 cover. Bottles of water were $4.50. I bought a vodka mixer for a dancer for $7.25. Music is a mix of rock and pop. I do not recall much if any hip hop being played. Songs are full length. This is the only strip club in the Moncton area.

As you enter, the bar is straight ahead along the back wall. The stage is to the left. It has two poles. The stage was vacant most of the night. Only about a quarter of the time I was there, a dancer would be performing on stage. Most of the dancers were horrible with their pole and stage work, and none of the guys even bother to tip the stage. The dancers make their money selling lap dances. The lap dance area is to the right in a separate room. Before you go back, both you and the dancer spray hand sanitizer on your hands. Dances take place in cubicle-like booths with leather seats. There is no privacy because anyone else in the lap dance area can see what is going on. You might get a little privacy if you and the dancer you are with are the only ones employing the room at that particular point in time. One of this place’s idiosyncrasies is that you cannot take your drink with you back into the lap dance room. You have to put it on a rack for bottles and glasses outside of the room. I hope the bouncers watch to make sure nobody throws roofies into the drinks.

Almost all of the 11 or 12 dancers on the night shift were Caucasian. There was a good mix of body types: slim, athletic, average, and curvy. I talked to just about every dancer working, and not a single one of them were from the Moncton area. Every single one of them commuted from Halifax, Nova Scotia with the exception of one dancer who hailed from Toronto. There is only one strip club in Halifax (Ralph’s Place), and it is a place with strict contact rules where dancers have a hard time making money. Hence, they make the two and a half hour drive to Dieppe where they can make bank. Another thing that caught me off guard was that the dancers were really friendly. Some of them would talk with me for ten or fifteen minutes before asking if I wanted to do a lap dance. Lap dances are fully nude. Generally, dancers will do the first dance topless, and then get completely nude on the second song. They lay a handkerchief on your lap when dancing nude. Two-way contact is allowed and encouraged. Only touching near the pussy is barred. I felt lap dances were a good deal for $20.
