NICE CLUB

This club used to have a different name before it was done up and (I think) changed hands. So far as I know it is the only club in town. As others have said it is under the railway arches just west of Reading Station. The entrance door is at one end of the club near the bar and the toilets. Entry just after 11pm was £7; drinks prices were, as in most British clubs, a little higher than in a classy pub but not excessive. The stage is to the left and the private dance booths are beyond that. I visited with a female friend - we were the only couple there. The lighting is very poor - you can hardly see the dancers on the stage or for that matter in the booths. But what surprised us most was that several of the dancers were UK dress sizes 12 and 14 as against the size 6 or 8 girls which you typically see in most clubs. My friend (who is a size 8 and was not dressed especially sexily that night) was the slimmest (and to my mind the prettiest) girl there; I certainly got envious glances from some other customers! All but one of the girls were white - which surprised me in an ethnically diverse town. We had private dances from two of the slimmer dancers. They were fairly typical dances in an English club; not air dances, but with very limited one way contact. I may try it again. One girl at The Lodge claimed to recognise me from the Honeypot in Maidenhead, two stops away by train, which offers a much raunchier experience
