Known unknowns vs. unknown knowns

I'm rating this place middle of the road since our first attempt at checking this place out was a complete failure. Mermaids is a massage parlor across the street Hong Kong. I had read about the procedure here and wanted to stop in for something different in-between the American dance club setting of HK and the prototypical puta bars found throughout Zona Norte. Sadly, I'll have to give a more complete review at a later date.

We walk in the door to the empty room on the first floor. No one was there. One of us walked through the door to the right leading to a short hallway with private rooms. No one was there. I went up the stairs directly opposite the entrance and glanced around. No one was there. Not wanting to accidentally commit B&E, we left.

The "open" sign was lit out front. Not sure what to think. Perhaps next trip I'll drop in by myself while I'm still sober and slightly more adventurous.
