I went to Kappa Kabanna at 23:30 on a Friday night. There was a $10 cover charge. On Friday and Saturday nights, the cover is $5 between 18:00 and 22:00 and rises to $10 after 22:00. The club is about a twenty minute drive north of Bloomington-Normal, located in the town of Kappa. I was expecting it to be more of a dive club due to it being next to a soybean field, but it was actually fairly upscale inside. The back wall is mostly a stage. It has two poles and a runway shooting off to the left. To the right is a horseshoe shaped bar. The left wall has three video slot machines. (I hit a jackpot on one of them, helping to bring down my night’s costs.) Fountain sodas and bottles of water are $4. The staff was friendly. This club attracts alot of female patrons. About half of the clientele were couples or mixed groups.

Lap dances are $30 each and take place in the corner of the club in an elevated area. An attendant stands at a podium recording the count, taking the money, and watching for roaming hands. Every hour or two there is a special on lap dances. All of the strippers are called to the stage and then disperse to sell the two-for-one’s. I clocked the two-for-one special and they came out to be two songs equaling about six and a half minutes of total dance time. These are definitely a better deal than paying $30 for one lap dance.

There are champagne rooms on the opposite side of the club in a separate room, just before you get to the video gambling machines. In here, you can get 15 minutes for $75, 30 minutes for $150, or 60 minutes for $300. (Most dancers won’t tell you about the 15 minute option, just the longer two options.) Add $100 to the price of any of the time durations if you actually want a bottle of champagne or alcohol. The champagne rooms are basically little rooms with leather couches. There are curtains to cover the openings, but the curtains were not allowed to be drawn.
