Visited: Saturday Evening

Stopped by at a little after 9:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening. The club is located in a small, low-end, suburban strip mall just off the highway. Although the strip mall is low end, it’s not a sketchy area and the lot is well lit, so no safety concerns. There were a lot of cars parked in the mall parking lot in front of Strokers, but it wasn’t hard to find a parking spot. The large security guy manning the door checked my ID and patted me down but didn’t charge a parking fee. Cover charge was $10.

Inside, the place looked pretty much as I remembered it from my last visit more than 20 years previously, which was before it became a black club. Back then, it was pretty much a redneck white boy hang out. Now it’s an all black club, at least as far as customers and dancers go. The two male bartenders on duty were both white, and one of the dancers told me the manager was an old white guy, but I never saw him.

Anyway, the club is fairly spacious. The large main stage is to the left as you walk in, a circular satellite stage past that in the center of the club, bar against the back wall. There is a seating area to the right and an area with five pool table to the left. The overall look is of a well kept, midrange club. I went to the bar in the back in the back an ordered a domestic beer, which was $4.
