Slow but still reliable

Atlantis has been my # 1 stop in Philly for quite a while when I am looking for happy times. The setting and location of this club have been described many times on here so I will skip that step. I stopped in recently on a late Wednesday afternoon. Sometimes by 5:30 (the time of my arrival) the action has started to pick up, but on this day it was still pretty slow. There was nobody on stage. There weren't even any dancers at the bar. I ordered my usual. "Just give me a Coke, please, I have to drive home soon and don't like to take any chances." The price of $5.25 is a little steep but hey this is a strip club, not a Wawa. You expect to pay a premium. Eventually a dancer got on stage; an attractive WOC, the usual fare here. Another attractive WOC appeared from the dressing room, came over and introduced herself. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was her very first day. When she took a seat beside me she sat so far away I couldn't hear her. She sat there for a little while, then made some excuse to move along (thank goodness) and returned to the dressing room. Just as I was thinking this was going to be a wasted trip a very light skinned Puerto Rican girl came by. She introduced herself and, rather than sitting 3 feet from me as the previous girl did, she snuggled up real close. She took note of my very flimsy pants (Dark blue PJ bottoms) by saying "Wow, you came dressed for the occasion." After a few minutes we adjourned to one of the $30 private rooms. She wasted no time in making sure my visit was a happy one. I paid her the $30 plus an extra $10 (not requested but certainly appreciated) and left with a smile. A darned good way to end my visit. Since I had spent substantially less than I usually do I decided to head over to Tony Luke's on Oregon Avenue for a roast pork Italian sandwich, broccoli rabe, and headed home. It was good as usual, even though they put so much juice on it the roll was a little too soggy for my liking. Still a darned sandwich, and a darned good way to end my late afternoon visit to Philadelphia.
