I have visited Ye Olde Axe off and on for the last few years - whenever I can get up to London. I usually attend on a weekday late afternoon between about 4pm and 7pm but have occasionally stayed later.

The club is really an old Victorian pub in need of a good lick of paint and from the outside it looks very rough. Don't be put off by this if you are looking for quality girls and quality dances. If you want a West End expense account night out then go to Spearmint Rhino or similar but if you are looking for the real lap dancing deal then visit this pub. You will find the dances much better than anywhere else and the girls are very friendly.

There is sometimes an entrance fee of £5 and drinks are slightly above normal pub prices. Dances are £20 for a lap dance.

Most of the girls are from Romania or other Eastern European countries including Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Hungary. There are a few home grown girls and a couple from Spain and Italy. A couple of years ago most of the girls were Brazilian but these are now rare. They come in all shapes and sizes but are mostly stunning. I would rate the majority above 8 with quite a few 9s and 10s. Mostly in their 20s. I have been to hundreds of clubs around the world in my time and I consider my ratings to be pretty accurate. You won't really find many breast enhancements or other plastic barbie dolls so if that is your type then you may be disappointed. The dances are not really private, taking place in a room at the back with 3 sides of benches holding about 9 guys maximum. However, the dances are amazing and are high mileage. I believe there is an upstairs that opens after 9pm and on weekends when the club gets much busier. I've been here once and it consists of couches and sofas in one big room.
