It Is What It Is
Stopped here on my way to see the Cubbies win the pennant. This roadhouse dive bar provided just what I needed = relief. Haven't been here in years and nothing has changed and I mean nothing. The raggedy old chairs, tables, and bad tv's are still the same. The nice old dude at the door and efficient bar tender are the same. Of course the best part is still the same...the service and prices.
Went straight to the bar upon entering and got a beer while noticing the line-up card. Saw some familiar names, but not sure if the names match the same dancers I remember. After getting my beer I sat down at a table to view what sports was showing and to get a view of the stage. The stage show is nothing you really want to watch, but it does give you a preview and opportunity for a Washington Park ld. After about five minutes at the table a blonde dancer who looked to be near the top end of the quality chart here sat down. She began some small talk and then the WP handshake. During the convo she said she recently returned here and her name was now Cookie, but she used to be Unique. When she said that it hit me that she was my last encounter here. I decided not to waste any time and when she had me all excited, we went behind the beads for the standard cbj for $40. Her skills have not diminished and I was out the door in less than 30 minutes. As always YMMV, but I doubt it here. This is as much a sure thing as the Cubbies breaking the 108 year old streak and winning it all!
