Martinsburg after Vixens and Taboo

After hearing about Vixens and then Taboo closing I finally had an opportunity to check out Lust (technically in Hedgesville, WV and not Martinsburg; no it's not just the street address).

VIXENS and TABOO INFO

Firstly I went to Lust to find out what had happened to the two main clubs I used to visit in that area until their sudden closing. A lot of the people at Lust came from TABOO and VIXENS after those two clubs closed. I talked with the Lust bartender and one entertainer and the gist of the closing is that there is an ongoing lawsuit between a few entertainers and the owners of Taboo and Vixens. My understanding is that the basis of the lawsuit is that the dancers had to pay to work at Vixens or Taboo and were therefore not employees (they did not collect a paycheck from the clubs). However, the owners would penalize the dancers for infractions (if you called in sick you had to pay a fine, each time you were late on stage you had to pay a fine, etc etc). Eventually one of the dancers figured out that this violated some sort of labor laws since non-employees had to pay penalties to an employer who did not actually employ (pay) them. A group launched a lawsuit and eventually the cost and issues associated compelled Vixens and then Taboo to close. None of the staff at Lust that talked about this were actually part of the lawsuit, but you could see that this probably had some truth because the bouncer staff at LUST was constantly filling out log books, recording when girls showed up, and essentially keeping full accounting written logs of everything in the club. The one recorded log that was different from Vixens and Taboo is that at least when checking ID they only looked at it and did NOT place it on a digital imagizer. One of the dancers I talked to later about all of this said she doubted Vixens or Taboo would be re-opening any time soon (or ever again) and thought that if they ever did re-open it would be under new names and and new management.
