small club

Visited late afternoon Saturday. Small center city club on a side alley, easy to find when you know where you're going but hard to find the first time there. I've been here late at night on weekends, and its so crowded you can't find a seat. Today it was maybe a quarter full. Its at its best when there are enough customers to keep the dancers alert, but not totally jammed. Also, its better when you've had a lot to drink. Dancers can range from really not attractive to fairly good, maybe 3-8 range. Today mostly in the middle of that range, 5-6. I started with a friendly but overweight dancer, got a couple of dances in the back just to warm up. Then a few with the best looking dancer there, solid 8. Brazillian about to head home, was intent on making as much money as she could while in the States. Overpaid for what I got, which was not that much considering what's generally available here, but I was content. Called it an early night. Next time I'm in town, I'll try to choose more wisely. And maybe hit the clubs later in the evening. It used to be that afternoons were fun in Philly clubs. I don't know whether the clubs have changed, or I have. But I think there was more activity this time of day. Maybe the economy has picked up. Or dropped off a cliff.
