Successful Trip to Hi-Liter
This was the second time I had ever visited the Hi-Liter, the first having been a couple/few months back. I first PM'd a few Phoenix veterans, asking about which clubs to visit and which days/times were best, and then headed into town. There was no cover at this time of day, even though I swear I paid a cover the first time I went. The door-chick did put the pressure on for me to buy an ice cold water bottle from her, however, and since there was no cover and I'm so used to those $30-55 covers in Vegas, I said what the hell and bought one.
As mentioned by most, the club layout has changed a bit. The VIP area grew; seems to add a little extra privacy. At least if you walk into the VIP and go to the right, like I did, you aren't looking straight ahead at some other dude getting dances, or whatever he's getting.
This VIP expansion does come at the expense of a more crowded floor now, as they seem to have cut into the old floor space, and a chunk of the $15 wall space. Seriously, there was no getting around tables in the middle of the room. In fact, I had gone to HiLiter with the names of a few girls in mind that I had picked up from reading other reviews, and spotted the so-called "GiGi" at one point, but she was dead-center of the room on some dude's lap for about the entire time I was looking, I never even had a chance to get a dance.
