Visited: Tuesday Evening

I found myself at Club Tennessee on a Tuesday evening around 22:50. This club is way out in the middle of nowhere on the Acadian Peninsula. From the road, the club appeared to be some kind of garage or mechanic’s shop that was converted into a strip club. You park in a gravel parking lot on the south side and enter through a side door. Club Tennessee is basically a dive bar with lots of drinking Acadians and a handful of strippers. As you enter, there is a small bar to the immediate right, a stage with one pole straight ahead to the right, and a room with a pool table and a payphone in the back left corner. There is only one small television behind the bar. It’s advisable that you are bilingual because everyone was speaking French here. The bartender and the dancers might be able to speak some English, but I did not bother to cross that bridge. There was no cover charge. A bottle of Budweiser was $5.75, and a bottle of water was $3.50.

There were four dancers on duty, and all four of them were from Montreal. Two entertainers were Quebecois, and the other two were of African/black descent. I assume dancers come and work at this club for a contracted amount of time as this club is really out in the boondocks and not easy to get to. Ariel is a skinny brunette with a lot of tattoos. Jade is thick white dancer with a lot of tattoos. Chelsea is a porky black dancer with fake hair and an ugly face. The fourth dancer was black and too heavy. Ariel was the only dancer I had much motivation to seek out. The stage stays empty for the vast majority of the night. The dancers were not adept at putting on an entertaining stage show when one would be called up every hour or so.

Upstairs there are booths with see-through curtains for lap dances and two VIP rooms with closing doors. Everything was made from plywood and painted black. I went upstairs to get some $20 lap dances, but found out that the dancers here don’t even really know how to give a lapper. The upstairs is all about getting an oil change or coolant flush.
