A "meh" experience

A previous reviewer described Candy Store as a neighborhood bar that happens to have strippers. That's a great way to describe it. My husband and I have been there a handful of times, usually Saturday evenings, and the place was always pretty dead. I remember one Saturday night there were only THREE dancers. And lots of times, dudes will be watching TV or playing pool, and not even watching the women dance (we're new to strip clubs, so maybe this is normal?). I know one dancer told me that there's a guy who just comes to drink beer and watch TV, and never tips the dancers or gets dances. So that's the kind of atmosphere this place has.

Every time we've been there, the dancers have all been caucasian (unless this was a coincidence), so if you're looking for any sort of ethnic variety, this apparently is not the place. The ladies range in attractiveness, with some that are 9/10s, and others much more average. The dancers do grind and touch the customers, but the customers can't touch the dancers, so there isn't much mileage to be had. We never did VIP, so I can't speak for that experience.

The Candy Store was the first strip club my husband and I had ever been to, so at the time, we thought the place was fine. After having been to two other strip clubs in Phoenix, we now know better! Looking back, we never had a terrible experience there, but we never had a great experience, either. You can definitely get more "bang for your buck" elsewhere (whether it's a club with $5 dances, or a club with higher mileage).
