sinclair's Review
I went to Synn on consecutive Thursday and Friday nights trying to figure out why this strip club gets so much hype. Both nights the parking lot was completely packed. On Thursday, I paid a $20 cover. On Friday, I had a discounted admission card that a dancer gave me on Thursday night. The card specified I only had to pay $5, but the gatekeeper told me that on Friday night, I would have to pay $10 instead of the $5 listed on the card. I argued with him for a few minutes, asking him if he is not going to honor what is written on the card, then why not print up new cards specifying a higher price? Juice and fountain soda is free with paid admission. However, anything in a sealed container like a bottle of water or an energy drink costs $6.
There is an intense drink hustle going on here. If a dancer starts talking to you, the waitresses ask if you want to buy her a drink. Every time you go back for a lap dance, a waitress locks on to you like a heat-seeking missile and asks you to buy the dancer a drink. They always seemed to be $6 no matter what kind of drink, even the kinds of drinks customers get for free. There is a clipboard by the bar where the waitresses record how many drinks each dancer sold throughout the night. I am guessing the dancers get fined or have to pay a higher tip out if they do not sell a certain number of drinks in a night. The waitresses like the hustle too because they figure they will get at least a dollar tip from every drink they push. On my Friday visit, after being ambushed by a waitress in the lap dance area, I reluctantly bought a dancer drink, figuring it would help the young dancer meet her quota. Annoyed by the 4’9” Asian waitress’s tactics and attitude, I only gave her the cost of the drink and no tip. After I was on the main floor, she approached me and said I shorted her a dollar, only paying $5 for the $6 drink. This was bullshit because she counted the money in the lap dance area. She was lying to get a tip for herself. I gave a buck to her so she would stop complaining like a whiny bitch. After this occurred, I vowed to never buy any more dancer drinks.
There were 33 dancers working on Thursday night. There were 29 dancers working on Friday night. Most of the dancers seemed to be Hispanic or at least of partially sangre latina. There were a few lighter pigmented black girls and a few white dancers to round out the mix. Numerically, the dancers ranged from 3’s to 9’s, the vast majority of whom were in the 5-7 middle ground. Lap dances are 1 for $20 or 3 for $40. Two-way contact is very good. One Cuban dancer encouraged me to pet her pussy cat during regular lap dances. The VIP rooms are $100 for fifteen minutes and $150 for twenty-five minutes. The fifteen minute rooms have a curtain over the opening. The twenty-five minute rooms have a door. On Thursdays, the fifteen minute rooms are discounted to $75. There is a single large stage with a single pole. There was always one dancer on stage at any given time, no intermissions.
