Should have gone back to Mons

I was in town visiting a few friends, one of whom had recently gotten divorced (married too young). Long story short, we went to Mons Venus on Friday night, then 2001 Odyssey on Saturday night. We loved Mons, and were headed back there on Saturday when the cab driver gave a glowing endorsement to 2001 Odyssey, so we called an audible and went there (they're across the street from each other). The cab driver knew the bouncer and hooked us up with half price cover, and in we went. The place was super crowded- it took us a few minutes of standing around before some seats opened up with even half decent views.

The girl on stage was just OK looking, and we settled in, but things started to go downhill. We were immediately being pressured to buy drinks. We had been drinking and I was trying to take it slower this night, so I ordered a $7 coke. There seemed to be a cadence to the stage dances whereby each dancer danced for 3 songs, the first in a top and bottom, the second topless, and the third fully nude. Only one or two of the dancers were really attractive, the others were mostly mediocre. They were considerably less attractive than the girls across the street.

The newly divorced friend went to the champaign/VIP room for close to an hour. I didn't get a chance at a dance with any of the couple really attractive girls, but got a dance none-the-less. It started OK but then she started telling me all about the DUI she just got. Talk about a mood killer. The dances were more private than at Mons, and it had the VIP/champaign room (and a spaceship? I didn't see it...), but we all wished we had gone back to Mons instead.
