First time at Ricks
I've been to most of the popular clubs in Austin except Ricks. This night I had friends decide to randomly stop by before we went to play pool. They mentioned the place had recently been updated in decor. The feel of the club seemed darker lit than I've experienced in other places which made it difficult to get clear views of all the dancers around. The VIP was nicely decorated but almost dungeon like with stone cave booths and metal chain links around the outer walls. I noticed a nice cigar selection which I hadn't seen in other clubs. The manager was very friendly and personable, but the dancers seemed introverted and huddled with each other in corners of the club. The main stage is quite large and open. The quality of the dancers was not exactly to my standards. Overly plastic and older in age. I did meet one dancer, a cute petite African American who seemed to be the only charismatic and engaging one. I would go back for the bar and manager service but besides that, I'll probably choose elsewhere.
