White Guy in a Black Club

Was actually on my way to another club in Brooklyn when I noticed the scrolling LED sign on top of the club. $2 Tuesday. What the hell. Had no idea what to expect but for $2 I thought I'd do some research. Walked in and was the only customer in the club at around 1 pm. Bartender reminded me of the Della Reese character from 'Harlem Nights.' She called out a dancer from the dressing room to come and sit with me. Dancer was slim size 8 or so but with at least size D naturals. Yes, they were real, and they were spectacular! She and I had a good visit while I asked about the club. Having never been there before, I half expected the dancers to possibly outweigh me. Not this time. The dancer I was talking with was actually pretty funny about it. She said for every hour the club is open, the dancers coming in to work get a little wider. The maximum booties coming in around 11 pm. Funny. So for me, the sweet spot would probably be around 4 pm. Papi mode is likely 9 or 10 pm.

As a mid forties white guy, I never felt uncomfortable in the club. I do spend plenty of time in St Louis city neighborhoods for work so maybe my level of comfort is different than most in my demographic. I noticed however, that every time a black customer entered the club, the dj called out for him to stop and hold his hands up while one of the dancers would go over and give him a pat down. Sort of a strip club 'Stop and Frisk' policy. Naturally I had to be a smart ass, I accused the dancer at this black club of racial profiling. Told her I was feeling left out because I didn't get groped at the door. She laughed and promptly made a thorough search of my person, nice. Too late now, could have already "bust a cap in yo punkass." That was all the street cred I could muster but she was busting up laughing.

All in all, a fun visit. I'll be returning, especially on Tuesdays for the cheap beer. Also Roxys and Pt's are in the midst of another rearrange and hours shakeup. I may have found suitable surrogate club. Day time that is.
