Change of Pace Bar

Tijuana is pretty easy to figure out. There are the main players in HK and Adelitas. There are the middle range shows in town like Chavelas and Bar Tropical. Then there are the why are you coming inside clubs which number in the dozen. Good news is all these clubs are on the same block. To walk from the furthest on one end to the furthest on the other end would take you no longer than 6 minutes. Today we recap Tropical.

Each bar has it's own vibe by now (and they are all clubs slash brothels). Hong Kong mimics the US strip club experience with every type of girl you can imagine, multiple girls dancing on stages, overpriced drinks (for the area but still cheaper/the same as USA), stage shows, private dance booth etc. Adelitas on a much smaller scale. Chavelas has the regular bar vibe with a Western theme. And Tropical has the "locals" vibe. You will find the largest percentage of spanish only speakers at Tropical. A lot of girls here are brand new to the scene and use Tropical as a stepping stone to HK (or will be stuck here if their looks aren't up to HK standards).

I personally have a lot of fun at Tropical, although I don't spend much time here. The drink specials are typically a 2-for-1 at all hours on beer. They don't always get your beer choice right though. Selecting a girl is as easy as asking the waiter to send a random, asking the waiter to send a particular one you point out, walking up to a particular girl you like or a random girl sitting down by you. Same as any strip club, huh? Difference is when a girl sits with you, a waiter will immediately come over and ask you to buy her a drink. If you decline, expect the girl to get up. Drinks here are your currency for time. $7 for a girl drink.
