Adios $5 dances, RIP Blush

Admittedly, since Wild Zebra became Blush nearly 10 months ago the place had gone downhill. New dancers and waitresses who tried to get away with making as much money by doing as little as possible. And a small selection of low to mid grade talent available. But they still had $5 dance Wednesdays(and recently $5 Mondays), and there were still a handful of fun curvy girls who gave decent mileage dances, so I'd still frequent the place from time to time and offer my patronage.

That all changed when I went in two weeks ago. When I walked in on this Wednesday night, I saw 2 cute girls behind the counter and thought, this is a nice change of scenery. They were adorable and flirty. Unfortunately when I walked through the doors to the main room, I saw only 3 girls in the club. One thick busty girl on stage, a non-descript latina at the bar working somebody and a super thin tall AA girl. I grabbed a Bud light($6.25) and took a seat. They had drink specials, but since I had already had a few before arriving and didn't want to get wasted I stuck to Bud. I believe their new Wed. drink specials are $5 for certain whiskeys. They do have their drink specials listed on their FB, which is nice I guess.

Shortly after I sat down, the AA girl comes up to me and asks if I want company, but at that point I was like, let's just go to the dances. She seemed kinda surprised by this. Had a nice little buzz going, didn't really wanna chit chat. So we get to the back wall where the row of chairs are for dances, and to my surprise no one was there. I mean, it shouldn't have been a surprise given there's only 3 dancers in the whole damn club and one was on stage, but I've almost never seen the lapdance wall completely empty before. And on a Wednesday night to boot. Very strange. I get two mediocre dances. She was more about moaning and breathing and slow air-grinding, which is pretty lame. But I did notice the dances were longer than usual. I figured the dj was trying to keep the few patrons here from leaving so he let 'em play a little longer. So I handed her $10 and told her thanks, then she dropped the bomb: they no longer do $5 dances, period. I was like, isn't this Wednesday? She said they stopped doing them all together. But she nodded, it's ok and accepted the $10 instead of $40 that she thought she was owed. And of course I felt like the asshole even though I shouldn't have since there was absolutely no hint from anyone that Wednesdays, which had been $5 dance days at this club for several years, had changed to $20 dances. Not on their Facebook page, their website, the door girls didn't say shit, the bartender didn't mention it, the waitresses didn't say it, it wasn't on the marquee outside the club, no, I had to find out after the fact from my dancer. That's a pathetic way to do business.
