Kings Cross: Not what it used to be...sadly.

The Cross, as it is known to Sydneysiders, is not what it used to be...sadly! What used to be a seedy, fun-loving haunt for mongers, perverts and those high on life, is now a dead, lifeless area thanks to the government's lockout laws. Showgirls is in the middle of the once famous strip and is still open, despite many other businesses closing down. I was dismayed when I visited the club, late on a Thursday evening. The club was not crowded, which surprised me because I'd been here once before and it was packed (granted, it was years ago, well before the lockout laws killed the area's atmosphere). The club itself looked run down which is not always a bad thing. After all, we don't visit for the decor! The reason for our visits are the strippers. There were a few really hot dancers but they were mostly aloof and that means not my kind. I know it's all SS when they act all excited with you but that's all part of what I'm buying. The 7s were doing all the running on the night and were really responsive to the customers. I didn't have a cheap night at Showgirls but I had an enjoyable night, probably a 7/10. If you visit, check out Paige. Well built and happy to please.
