Ten dollar cover for what?

I entered Centerfolds on a Monday evening to be greeted with a sign that there was a "Special Event" $10 cover charge that evening. I inquired as to why to the bouncer, who explained it was Latina night! So I forked over a Hamilton, got frisked, and went to the bar area.

There were perhaps six customers. And roughly the same number of dancers, one of whom seemed to be of Latin origin. I thought to myself that maybe there was a drink special or something to justify the double-cover, but that didn't pan out, either. After getting a $5 beer in a plastic cup, I went over to the stage and got the attention of one of the lethargic six (dancers) who was sitting on the edge of the stage doing nothing by tossing three or four dollar bills in her direction. Cute, young, and bouncy she asked if I'd like a lap dance. How could I say no?

In the lapdance area, she promptly insisted for payment upfront. No problem, and gave me a half-hearted dance that lasted 3/4 of a short song. I had fun with a daytime dancer there a month back, who warned me that nights were not fun. She was right. Downright brutal. I'm not going back to this club at night. It sucks.
