Another day at Atlantis

I'm a regular at Atlantis with years of patronage. I usually don't think of submitting a review but recently I sat and had a discussion with a dancer friend and decided perhaps my two cents could be worth a review. I have always been a fan of most dancers here. Most dances with experienced dancers are very rewarding whether in the $20 or $30 VIP rooms. Occasionally there has been a dancer that is less than giving but that can often be determined bar side or within the first $20 dance. Naturally if you're a regular there is the advantage of familiarity. So, that said I'm happy with dancer quality and performance.

My issues are with club quality. Other than the bar itself the club is dirty and very worn, from carpeting, to bathroom, to couches for lap dances. Think about it this club makes money; off customers for cover charges, off every dance and on overpriced drinks. It also makes money in door fees from every dancer. In return they should provide a clean atmosphere. They don't. If you're an owner or manager please note that we as customers are not looking for fancy we simply expect clean and decent accommodations.

Another issue is promotion. The club should do more to promote itself so the dancers have a greater opportunity to make a day's pay. There are often "special" events like a Halloween Party but unless you actually go to the club you have no knowledge. On exception is the little strip club mag may have an ad but again only reaches the visiting audience. Self promotion and advertising is not a bad thing.

One other complaint is with bartender former dancer Vanity. Her aggressiveness in taking tip money is not appreciated. I am a tipper and always tip however Vanity holds the quarter change on a $6.75 beer then aggressively asks for her tip. Tips are for service, attentiveness and personality not for attitude. The same goes for Suzie.

On another note, this club is in the city. It is not a suburban club. If you're visiting from outside accept that. This is NOT a bad part of the city. It is located in primarily the college area of the city. Practice reasonable safety practices but don't put in reviews how big and bad this area is. It is well lit, in an area frequented by police and university security. If the area is too challenging for you stay in the burbs.
