The Good Ole Cab

The dancers at The Cabaret Club are usually nothing to write home about, but there can be a gem here or there. Having said that, it is one of the loosest clubs I have been in, inexpensive and your money goes a long way. You will get a hand in your lap playing with your stuff whether you want it or not. Most of the dancers are Hispanic or Mexican, but there are a few African Americans and a few Caucasians as well. I don’t think I have ever seen an Asian there.

The place is BYOB, so bring your own alcohol, or one of the guys at the from the front door will get you some from a nearby liquor store. He expects a tip. You can order soft drinks to mix with your bottle. If you bring beer you can get a bucket of ice. Sometimes you get this for a tip, but sometimes they charge you for it. If you have your own alcohol, you will be popular with the dancers. I always leave whatever I don’t drink with a dancer when I leave. Tell her before you leave so you can get the benefit while you are still there.

The place is dark, real dark. Let your eyes take time to adjust before committing to a dancer. The bar in the back is slightly better lit than the rest of the club, so it doesn’t hurt to hang out there for awhile as you get used to the dark. There is a stage on one side of the club about halfway back, but nobody goes for the stage show. If you see a dancer you like on stage tip her and ask her to join you, otherwise, don't take the stage show too seriously.
