Manhattan Afternoon
I was in New York on business last week, closed a deal over lunch, and had a few hours to kill before heading to LGA for the flight back to Florida. I checked out of the hotel, left my bags with the bellman, and headed up Broadway for Flashdancers at 52nd & Broadway.
The club is located in the basement, down a relatively steep stairway, so if you have mobility issues be so advised. As you enter the actual club area you immediately see a bar right in front of you, with two pole stages to the right. There are typically four girls dancing, two at the small bar stages, two at the larger stages. If you arrive in the afternoon there is no cover charge and your first drink is a "buy one, get one," making it rather affordable based on prevailing midtown pricing.
Girls were a mix of eastern European and Puerto Rican. I did not notice any African American dancers present. Lap dances are $20 per song and take place in a open couch area off the main stages. I sampled two dancers, the first a girl who said she was from Moscow and her accent seemed to validate that. It was a conservative experience, limited touching permitted, quite limited actually, and I did only one tune with her. Next I was approached by a Latina beauty, enhanced breasts but obviously done by a plastic surgery artist, who allowed and indeed encouraged mutual touching, stick shifting, etc. She didn't even try to upsell me to the extravagantly prices "champagne room." I thoroughly enjoyed my three dances with her, then it was back to the hotel to claim my bags and on to LGA for the flight home. A smile on my face...
