First Trip to X
I found this place OK with the help of Google Maps, although I can understand why so many others have had trouble doing so. Once I navigated the residential streets leading there and then parked in the decently lighted lot, I walked in, paying an $8 cover to a friendly door girl, who I would guess was a former dancer herself.
My first impression on entering the front room was that the crowd was Wednesday afternoon-sized, but this was Friday night (around 11). I guestimate that there were about 10 custies and 10 dancers, so A) not much selection, and B) a poor ratio. Two dancers chatting near me on the floor as well as the bartendress each attested to its being particularly slow for a Friday. One would hope that this was an honest reflection and not a practiced lie. I lean heavily toward the former because it would be difficult for the club to stay open otherwise. Sidenote: I have much more experience in relatively more upmarket strip joints, as opposed to the "neighborhood bar" types, and my impressions are filtered through that bias.
The bouncer/manager?, whom I learned later was called Damien (or Darren?), greeted me as I entered the front room. I don't usually tip bouncers, but I will probably slip this guy a fiver the next time I go there because he did me a solid. More on that later. There were two bartenders, a guy and gal. I asked the female if she had ever danced. She said no, which surprised me given her ample assets. Didn't get her name. The hottest woman in the place was actually the house mom, a tall, big (but proportional) bootied mulatto who made a show of dancing to the music and sashaying to and from the bar--transparently trying to loosen us all up, along with our wallets.
