No swiping!

Was staying at a hotel practically across the street from this club, so I thought I would give it a try. Bouncer outside the front door having a smoke was nice enough. Then I got to the entrance counter. The girl asked for my ID and went to scan/swipe it. I stopped her and said I didn't want my ID scanned. She said they only keep the image for 48 hours. I said no way are you doing that. She then told me I can't enter the club unless she swipes the ID. I took my license back and walked out the door. There's $200 that club won't see! Why this is thought to be acceptable in these days of constant identity theft is beyond me.
