Lazy Thursday Evening at Silk

I visited Silk for the first time on Thursday. Generally I avoid crowds, hence the weekday visit... and I guess I picked the day right, as it was practically empty inside.

The club itself is very nice. Parking lot seems safe. Big interior space with a big stage (and maybe technically another, smaller stage to the side, but it's basically all one big stage). Good lighting on stage, cool LED fixtures behind the stage, good light level in the club itself (i.e. not so dark you stumble, but not so bright you're staring at other dudes). A large bar area opposite from the stage. Another, smaller bar sort of off to the side. I was a little surprised by the sheer size of the place, because the only pictures of the interior on their website show this super-narrow angle, which gives you no idea at all how big the place is. Actually, the pictures make it look like it is a tiny place and the photographer was trying to conceal this fact. Bizarre... but I think it's federal law that strip club websites must be uninformative.

So yeah, very empty that night. A lot of the girls liked to cluster around the smaller bar, at least earlier in the evening. Seemed like it was the unofficial "staff" bar. Which is fine, but it made the prospect of finding a girl to talk to almost intimidating, like a high school dance. They're all over there chatting with each other (and one or two guys who were apparently employees of some sort)... meanwhile one girl at a time went on stage for two or three dance sets, rinse and repeat. During these times it was like there was only one girl in the whole club. Later they got out and engaged a little more. I guess early on, they didn't think there were enough guys to bother with.
